Instructions for using The Sidelines
1. Track a match
Use the landscape tracker to enter the fixture details, choose team colours, set the match duration, and start the timer at kick-off.
Switch ends on screen if necessary to match the direction of play in front of you. During the game, tap the buttons for what you see: shots, passes, tackles, goals, corners, cards and other key events.
You can share a live report link or QR code before or during the match, so parents, coaches or players can follow the stats as they build.
2. View, share and edit reports
Match reports work during the game and after full-time. They show the scoreline, goal details, team comparison, shot data, possession and momentum.
You can edit match details and every action later if anything needs correcting.
3. Track a focus player
Focus player tracking lets you mark actions for one chosen player while still tracking the match normally.
The idea is deliberately simple: a normal tap records the team action; a long press can tag that action to the focus player.
After the match, the focus player report helps you see involvement, contribution and patterns - useful for feedback, development, and showing a players contribution.
4. Build coach insights
Coach insights combine your matches into a season view, so you can look beyond one result and start spotting patterns.
This is where the app becomes more than a match report. It starts to answer the useful coaching questions: are we creating more chances, converting better, fading late, or improving in the parts of the pitch that matter?
